Encountering Angels: Reading Genesis with my Children

4

In this book, my children and I blend traditional Jewish learning and personal experience in our commentary on Genesis, making it unlike any other book written about the biblical text and rabbinic literature related to Genesis.  Like most books of biblical commentary written by rabbis, it examines the text through the eyes of education, experience and wisdom.  Unlike other books about Genesis, it also explores the biblical text through my children’s eyes of curiosity and discovery.

Encountering Angels is designed for anyone interested in the study of religious texts and engaged in a personal, spiritual journey. The book will serve as an excellent primer for the study of the Hebrew Bible and will provide an introduction to the classical method of biblical interpretation.  It will also be a valuable resource for adults who wish to study the text of Genesis alongside its classical commentaries, discover their relevance to 21st century life and share these principles of classical text study with the next generation.

As I continue to revise the the manuscript, I have begun the process of finding a publisher for Encountering Angels: Reading Genesis with my Children.  To stay up-to-date on the progress of this project, visit this page!

Ooh! This book sounds fascinating! I look forward to hearing more about it.

Thanks, Kendra! I’m still trying to find a mainstream publisher. The proposal has been “out there in the ether” as I work on manuscript revisions. I may need to take next step: querying agents.

Great way to whet the appetite for more!
Pamela, you are amazing.

Thanks, my friend! If you are too kind on the website, you are SURE to become one of the trusted beta readers. 😉
